The Yellowbanks Dulcimer Festival, now in its 18th year, takes place at English Park, 25 Hanning Lane, on June 5-6, 2009, on the banks of the Ohio, in Owensboro, Kentucky. The 2-day festival promotes and celebrates the mountain dulcimer as the designated Kentucky State Instrument. FREE concerts and workshops on various folk instruments are offered by professional performers. Performer lineup for 2009 is: Les Gustafson-Zook, Ken Kolodner, Kara Banard, Jim Miller, Fred Meyer, Stephen Humphries and Dave Haas. Workshops in Mountain Dulcimer, Hammered Dulcimer, Banjo, Guitar, Bowed Psaltery, Fiddle, Penny Whistle and more. Come enjoy a family music weekend with instruction for all levels from beginner to advanced, children to adults. Handmade crafts, music vendors and food add to the festival atmosphere.
