March 11 Dehlia Low
Dehlia Low came together- as many bands in Asheville, North Carolina do- through the rich local bluegrass jam scene. Anya moved to town, and after Stacy heard her sing at a jam at a favorite local bar, Jack of the Wood, she knew they had to sing together. They started working out some songs, loved the sound and the process and recruited Aaron to play the dobro. This developed and Scott came along to fill out the low end on the bass. Bryan moved to town, played at the Jack of the Wood jam, and Dehlia Low snatched him right up for their first gig before anyone else could lay claim to him. They''ve been gigging locally in the Asheville area and in the Southeast ever since.
Focusing on strong songwriting utilizing the sounds of early roots country and the ghosts of bluegrass past and present, Dehlia Low delivers the goods. Strong female harmonies are augmented by musicianship that is married to both melody and improvisation.
